I can easily remember several things that were extremely anxiety-producing for me when I was a child: getting called on by the teacher, dogs, crowds, and speaking (I hardly knew the sound of my own voice).
I went through life using all my energy to avoid these things, leaving me feeling disempowered and irritable. I can still readily recall these times because the feeling of fear and worry left a lasting impression on me.
After years of struggle and feeling misunderstood, being labelled as shy and self-conscious, I have committed my energy to learning and developing empowering tools that have helped me work through and transform my anxiety into creative problem-solving, using the energy from anxiety to work for me. I have created tools inspired by my own experiences that have profoundly and positively impacted my self image and self-efficacy. If only I had these tools to help me when I was a child.
But now, I get it, and I understand kids who feel all those uncomfortable feelings of worry and anxiety, and I want to share these tools and empower children to joyfully and confidently live their childhood, and be better equipped to handle their anxiety!
At my Anxiety Workshop for Kids that I host several times throughout the year, we have a blast learning these incredible tools and skills to use anywhere you go, for life!
